Being born and raised on a dairy farm in Agassiz and subsequently to Chilliwack, Dan is very much a farm boy at heart. At the young age of 20 he began his first professional career as a paramedic with BC Ambulance Service. He served multiple communities in the Fraser Valley and the greater Vancouver area for several years, then felt the need for more adventure and joined the RCMP. After serving his communities for 29 years, he retired and began working directly with some of our most vulnerable of society, our seniors. He assisted them in the transition from home to a safe care facility, assisting in every way necessary to ensure the change was welcomed rather than dreaded. This was very rewarding work with many happy clients.
Throughout the years, Dan was involved in the real estate industry from an ownership and investment standpoint, participating in multiple flip properties as well as rentals. The love for real estate has always been there, and in early 2021, made the decision to join his brother, Henry E Klop of Re/Max Nyda Realty. This unfortunately did not transpire with the passing of Henry after a long and brave battle with cancer. Henry wasn’t just a brother; he was also a great friend and mentor. Dan's motivation now is to keep Henry’s legacy alive and continue serving the people and communities with the same passion and care that Henry did.
With a lifetime of experience working with people and leading teams to achieve a common goal, Dan brings a competitive edge for each client and for every sale and purchase. With his extraordinarily strong negotiating and conflict resolution skills, he knows it’s not just about closing a sale; it’s about making sure the client is content and fulfilled with their experience. Having responded to thousands of crises calls, Dan believes his ability to really listen will be his greatest asset to assist in either a purchase or sale of your property.
The Klop Real Estate Group was formed when Daniel was joined by his wife Joanne (JJ) as a licensed Realtor™. JJ loves showing homes and is the full-time showing Agent for the business. This frees Dan’s time to market properties with their proprietary marketing system as well as negotiate deals for buyers and sellers. This has proven to be a win for clients!
Born in mainland China, JJ is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. With a business economics degree and years of trading in import/export to multiple countries, JJ is well versed in the business world and has many connections in the investment world. She has a passion for homes and interior design, and is instrumental in preparing a home for marketing to attract the most potential buyers.
When not showing or selling homes in Chilliwack and surrounding areas, you will find Dan and JJ with their 2 daughters flying, fishing, biking, or going on crazy adventures to other parts of the world. While JJ enjoys her quiet time reading a book, you'll find Dan in the shop building a Zenith Cruzer airplane.
